GREETINGS:
Many times one looks for reasons to sing, when the reason
is deep within oneself, waiting, uncovered and calling us
on, to give the best of ourselves... living it, feeling
it and liberating it. I feel in Sarambe a special
devotion and dedication, something enchanting that leads
me to offer a joyful, fresh, and different way to
transmit our music... communicate it with sensitivity, an
intimate sensitivity and so universal at the same time,
existent in each rythm heard, in each sound, creating a
mysticism upon knowing that we are surrounded daily by
music and that without it, our lives would lose many
colors. I feel that Peru has much to offer, our country
surrounds us with many treasures, its music being one of
its greatest and that is why I unite myself with it and
the beatiful commitment of transmitting it. Realizing
that music, with its strong attraction, penetrates deeply
in its people in a magical and enchanting way... I sing
to you from Peru because I feel in love with its music,
our music and through it I grew to love it, respect it
and appreciate it even more. With its work, I share with
you that love for my country, my people and our music.
I wish to thank all those people who helped me along the
way. Those who believe in peruvian music as a different
proposal to the music of today, not only of Peru, but
internationally as well. I begin by thanking Samir Giha
and Javier Casta¤eda of Discos Hispanos for holding on
to that great ilusion of this new proyect. To each one of
the musicians that participated in this production, Maria
del Cramen Dongo, Lupita Eslava, Alex Sarrin and Pepe
Velazquez, for keeping together and supporting me
unconditionally. Coqui, Pepe Cespedes, Perico and Jorge
Talavi¤a for believing in this product as a musical
proposal. "Jocho" Velazquez for getting the
production off the ground and giving it his all and
specially to "Coco" Linares for takin over a
difficult and putting it in the right direction, and
putting all his talent into it.
I would like to thank all those who where with me from
the beginning, from the moment I dreamt about what I
wanted to realize: Thank you Felix Casaverde for the
conversation and all that we shared, I know that much of
what we accomplished is also the sharing of a dream with
you. Thanks to my parents, my grandmother, my brothers, I
love you... Thank you always; Maria Rosa for being with
me at all times, Griselda for your great help, Carmela
for your unconditional support, Lorena, Fabiola, Omar,
Eduardo for supporting me giving me the best of yourself
and your great creativity.
Thanks to Pepe Villalobos for both of his wonderful
songs, to those who silently offered me their experience,
Martin, Paco and Manuel of Potro Lila Studios, Amadeo
Gaviria for betting on us, Pepe Vazquez for putting that
black vein into the songs. Thanks to so many greats of
peruvain music, Chabuca Granda, Felipe Pinglo for their
inspiration based on Peru and to all of you who
constantly give us sufficient reasons to continue on this
path. |
